  • Squash id help?

    Hi All
I have planted rolet squash and it is a bush type and now fruiting, the fruits are green with white markings like tiger stripes. My question is are they a winter or summer squash I cant find the packet. My memory is not too good but I think they are johnson seeds and were bought in sainsburys. Any help would be grateful I tried googling them but all I seem to get is trailing varieties

According to this it's a Summer Squash:

    Squash Seed 'Rolet' (Summer Squash)

But most other places I've looked seem to think it's a Winter squash, yet ALL the above describe the fruit as dark green - no mention of tiger stripes at all.

Oooer, reckon you need one of the big guns from the squash group to fathom this one. Best of luck.

Me again (love squash - can you tell ), anyway according to this site, they can either be picked when dark green and apple sized or if left to grow will turn orange. Possibly the picture on the packet showed them mid-change.

It's all very confusing - now I need a cup of tea.
