  • Little black beetles all over squash plant

    Hi
I have a beautiful butternut squash plant but it has an infestation of small black beetles - what are they? how harmful are they, and if necessary, how can they be controlled?

    Any advice appreciated. Many thanks.

We have SWARMS of pollen beetle here too. They do good - pollinating the flowers but they're so itchy they drive me crazy!

Annoying more than anything, especially when you want to eat the flowers

We have clouds of the little B's! (we're surrounded by fields of rape) And when they start harvesting we get thunderbugs, EVERYWHERE! In our pictures, hair, secrret places and last week in the computer monitor. I'm itching just thinking about them! And now the biting insects have arrived! I'm thinking of getting a beekeepers outfit!
