  • Japanese onion seed. Where????

Following on from the seeds versus sets thread I was wondering where those of you who grow Japanese onions from seed get them from. I found plenty of sources for the white ones but no one, but no one seems to sell the Electric onion seed. (the red uns) Any ideas anyone?

I just use any old seed, me. I'm tight like that.

It gets cloched and greenhoused all winter, and that method resulted in most not bolting even last winter - so I'm doing the same again this year.

I grew Senshyo from seed last year and it was a waste of time!

Sorry can't help about the red version.............my reds from sets usually bolt!

Zaz's plan sounds a good un though!

I attempted to grow Electric from seed a couple of years ago.... I say attempted because they were tiny (shallot size). Anyway, I'm sure I got the seed from Homebase.

As far as I know you can only get Electric as sets, at least I can't find anyone selling seeds.
