New to growing Veg

We are thinking of building a 30 foot by 3 foot raised bed and was wondering what sort of yield we could expect from that size of plot. We are a family of 2. I did do a search but didn't come up with anything.
Hope I am in the right place

What types of things are you thinking of growing in your bed?

I am not sure if it is possible to tell you how much of anything you could expect to harvest. But there is bound to be someone along shortly who is much more knowledgeable than me.

Hi weekend
There is not a lot of veg that we don't eat so are open to any suggestions people may have, sounds like an opt out but we really are quite new to this. At the moment we do do Tomatoes, runner beans and a few herbs.

I suppose it is an odd time of the year to start, but we are just in the process of buying a strip of land to add to our small garden hence our interest.

As WW sez it really depends on what you want to grow and all the other variables that get thrown at you. It's really impossible to say really but I reckon you could get a fair bit in there. Brassicas and spuds tend to take up lots of space whereas carrots, parsnips, salads beans/peas don't so much. You'll probably be surpised at how much you can cram in. Oh and welome

Great isn't it, this is our 3rd year of growing stuff, 2nd with an allotment and I don't think the excitement ever goes.

There are a few people about on here who use the square foot gardening method.
Google it, there are lots of books and sites with a variety of information. Unfortunately I am having difficulties with my search engine at the moment or I would send you a link.
You would probably find it if you did a search on here actually. It was being discussed not too long ago.

I have raised beds on my lottie - and one of them I have turned over to a square foot bed as an experiment - it looked good almost immediately!

I will have a look later as I need to get some work done. I spoke to my Daughter over the weekend (cazp) and she was talking about the same thing. Sounds interesting. it may be to small a scale for me with 90 sq feet to play with, but on the other hand......

I think you might be better off having shorter beds 30 foot is a long way to walk around, I know I'd be tempted to jump over instead.

That's very true, what you can do is put a little stepping stone in the middle now and again, it makes it easy to walk over a 3 foot bed.
