Can anyone identify this plant? it grew in a pot in a greenhouse that I thought I had planted a tomatoe in. It became obvious very early that it wasnt a tom, but, as I hadn't a clue what it was, I decided to let it grow thinking I would recognise it later, Its now 3 feet high, and I still haven't a clue

I'm not great at flowers, but until someone comes along who is, try this for size: I think that it might be a physoloides or shoe fly plant - if it is, it has lovely blue/purple flowers and then seed heads a bit like a cape gooseberry, or tomatillo.
I had one appear at the Hill last year in the front flower border.Last edited by Hazel at the Hill; 20-07-2010, 11:42 AM.

They are often grown in greenhouses, so it's possible some seed got mixed in with tomato seedsLast edited by Two_Sheds; 20-07-2010, 12:35 PM.All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.
