Mine have 1 truss each. I reckon if I only get a few toms from each plant it's worth it.

What's the deadline for flowers opening in order to allow enough time for subsequent tomatoes to ripen?

Mine have two trusses of flowers on with some tiny toms starting to develop. I always think its worth doing even if only a few trusses form. What have you got to loose.

My "armpits" look fairly healthy but are small, only about 6-8 inches high. I have just repotted them into bigger containers but do plan to bring them indoors at the end of summer if they eventually flourish and flower!

Thanks Grapes for putting me on to growing these. I'm thrilled with my extra freebies because even if I dont get any fruit this year I will know better for next year!!!

I'm actually wondering why I bothered to nip mine off in the first place, it just stopped them growing for a month while they recovered and got new roots. None of mine look likely to flower in time for toms this year unless I take them into the house come September or something

I'm beginning to think I should have just left them on the parent plant and kept the foliage well trimmed back, then at least they would have been four weeks further ahead.....

I did this by accident with my Rosado plum tom, it is so straggly and didn't produce any flowers until four feet tall. Even then I didn't notice an armpit starting, but now it has flowers so I will leave it on and double my Rosado harvest!!
