My first EVER CUCUMBER!!!

[El Greeno]

Here is a picture of my first ever cucumber.
It is a tasty burpless green variety.
I attempted them last year but a slug ate the early shoots and I mistakenly re-planted with courgette seeds - doh!



I would have let it grow a bit more but when I went to check them this morning it had fallen off the 'vine'(???).
It was grown as part of 2 plants growing in a standard 12" tub trug trained up a metal frame.

I'm very proud of myself

p.s. I put down a 50p for comparison. Is that the standard way of measuring on here???

The 50p is good for scale, thanks. Looks good and a good big one (oor er missus!), I tend to pick my first few smaller than that cos I just can't wait

I remember feeing the same when i grew my first one, i licked it when i cut it open just to make sure it tasted like one. lol

This is one i grew from my first plant, i was well impressed.

Congrats! I've had 4 so far and lots of babies! What a contrast to last year when I only got 1 off 2 plants!

Congrats to you all I have failed miserably all dead...................Aahh
tried so hard this is my first year of having a greenhouse I bought seeds I bought ready started plants but no go for me so enjoy your cucumbers and hopefully next year I can put a photo on this forum of my first cucumber because I am not giving up. Everything else I have grown is blooming amazing and we are enjoying eating them. I am learning every day.
