I tried both last year and wasn't too keen on either. The chinese radish didn't grow too well . I also grew some Mooli (japanese radish) and they were much better.Last edited by binley100; 24-07-2010, 09:01 PM.S*d the housework I have a lottie to dig

If that is what you grow, nick, you need to have big space between plants - something like 10 - 20 cm if you got space. And keep them well watered. They dont like heat, will bolt if weather is too hot. Any keep slug out of them as they can ruin the roots. Not easy to grow but well worth it. good luck.

The chinese radish I tried were Mantanghong which look like the ones you have bought.
The german ones were Munchen Bier and the ones I've had the most success with are April Cross a Japanese mooli.S*d the housework I have a lottie to dig

I haven't had much luck with radish , only the mooli. I don't have much luck with spring onions either and they are both meant to be easy to grow.S*d the housework I have a lottie to dig

At the moment I am just doing Mooli and Chinese Radish. I have done Raddish Saxa 2 which was very good.
I have Radish Scarlet Globe seeds but not used them.
Next year I may try the Spanish type Raddish, they don't sell them in Essex, so I am going to have to buy them online next year.
I wish Beetroot would do as well as Radish !
