Why? Do you restrict your veg to a square foot or something??

It is a method of growing veg in small controlled areas, rather than sowing an entire packet of seeds in a long row and then thinning the resulting plants, you grow a smaller number of seeds within a square foot. i.e. in one square foot you grow 8 carrots with 8 radishes in between, in another square foot you grow one cabbage and so on. It is supposed to keep the watering, weeding and tending to a minimum. I have yet to try it but am currently reading the book. I don't think I will commit my whole growing area to it but I'll give it a go......
