What a fantastic bean

Early this year a kind grape sent me Cosse Violette' Purple Pole Bean seeds. The plants themselves are very striking with purple flowers & deep purple stems.
The beans are dark purple (green when cooked) and are delicious even if you leave them on the plant until they are about 20 cm long.
The only downside to them is that you can't see the blackfly as they are so dark & I have found this a serious problem on all my beans this year.
Cherokee trail of tears I do not find so tasty & think it looks rather strange with a darkish line down the side.
Have just googled them & most people seem to be growing them for the black beans inside so would I be better off leaving them to form seeds.?

Cherokee ToT are definitely grown for the beans inside.

Violette are lovely, and earlier than green beans too.
Cherokee tend to be stringy ....

I grow Cherokee just for the fine green beans. Picked young I find them the tastiest. Good job we're not all the same or some of us would get killed in the rush!
