Broad Bean Germination

If you want to make absolutely sure they germinate, and you're not trying to grow too many, you can soak them in water until they swell, then put on damp kitchen towel in a sealed plastic container until the little shoots start growing. Then, very carefully, transfer to a pot. This is how we used to teach children about germination.
