Advice Needed - Rusty Tomatoes

Hi Everyone.

My Tomatoes are ripening off but lots of them have a rusty stain on the skin where they join the truss. Can anyone tell me what is causing this and are they still safe to eat?

I only have 2 plants, growing outside in pots.

What type of tomatoes and any chance of a picture?

I don't know what type they are (got them at a carboot sale), I'll try and upload a picture this evening, if I can figure out how to, I'm new to all this.
