Moving Pumkins and Butternut Squash....is it a no no?

Hi,

I was wondering if you would be kind enough to let me know if Pumpkins and Butternut Squash are ok to move once established? I am guessing not to be honest but thought I better check.

Better planting space for me next year I think!

I second that Nooooooooo.
I've found even the little seedlings that spring up in the compost heap resent being moved...and that's when they have the tenniest of roots.

You can train the actual plant to go 'almost' where you want it to...even up if you're running out of space

you may have to sacrifice a plant or two, to allow the others room to grow

A definate no no. They don't have deep roots so when you move them you will hack a lot of their surface feeder roots off. Also, I find when it comes to transplanting, the bigger the plant the more knockback it will suffer.
