Thanks for that tip, Davyburns, I'll try it.

I tried puting just a couple in a brown paper bag with a banana - they ripened beautifully in a few days. This was a tip I read here on this forum, just a couple of weeks ago. Can't remember which thread, but it seems I'm learning something new every time I log on here!

had 3 yellow tumbling toms, and 2 red TT, and it looks like the rest are turning, especially the ones on top of my shed.

Thanks for so many replies ..
Seems to be a common thread for everyone ..

I would like to report however that at last
my first few fruits are starting to turn colour.

I'm aware Alicante are known for being a decent cropper
but i'm truly surprised at the size some of the fruits.
The Greenhouse has made a huge difference over growing outside.

I have two alicante plants in my greenhouse and there are quite a lot of growing tomatoes on each but neither have any red ones (yet).

I'm in Scotland so should I expect them to turn red later as our growing season starts later or am I making chutney all autumn? When is too late to turn red?

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.
