yup first ones for me today too. I don't know how they tasted as I gave them to the man next door to my nan who freely gave up his weekend for a while back to help put her fence up.
I just put mine striaght into a platics snappy bag thing, and put them in the freezer, no blanching, no nothing. Still got some left from last year, and they're still good.

Thanks Taff, just wasn't sure if I need to blanch or not but you've answered the question.
We've had 25 so far, from approx 14 plants and I have another 34 plants at varying stages from flowering to ripe (pigeon got number 49 when it was 15inches high ). I planted them out in 5 blocks of 9, plus 5 extra, over a period of 4-5 weeks , to spread them our and prevent a glut. So far so good, as it seems to be working.
I've had a couple upt til now. Eaten raw as soon as picked.......yum!
