Cucumbers and peppers

Hi All
I have bought Tasty Jade cucumbers and Redskin peppers (all seeds) to try for the first time. Both will be going in my green house so has anyone any tips, advice or experience on these?

ps no cucs sown yet but have put 3/4 peppers in my indoor prop to see how they go but not showing yet and they've been in a week

Hello Supersam, I haven't grown the varieties you have, but the peppers I sowed on the windowsill in December have got flower buds on today! Don't worry if they haven't germinated after a week. They will come. I haven't planted my cucumbers yet. A bit early for me. If I plant too early they get too big for the windowsill before it's warm enough to put them in the greenhouse. I try to keep my greenhouse heating to just a few weeks (skinflint!)

Thanks for the advice, I did think it was wiser to leave cucumbers till later. Still no show on the pepper front but toms are up if a little bit frail and leggy.

If your toms are leggy Supersam, you can replant them so that the seed leaves are just above the compost.
