  • Broccoli - help!

    Hi all,
This is my first time planting broccoli and it's not looking very promising. Lots of leaf but nothing that looks even remotly like broccoli! Does anyone know if you can eat the leaf? Is it just like greens? Help me salvage something from y crop!

Hi and welcome to the vine. Depending on the variety of broccoli you have sown it may not be ready for harvesting until next year. The best thing is to check the packet and see when it says it will be ready. I expect the leaves are okay to eat but you wouldn't want to remove all the leaves before it has matured to produce spears.
    Happy Gardening,

As Shirl says, what have you got?
summer calabrese or winter broccoli, which is ready for harvest usually Jan-Mar
