We are forecast to have overnight temperatures of 0,1 and 2degrees over the weekend. Will this harm my borlotto beans and therefore I need to harvest them or can they cope with a touch of frost?
I think the plant will be damaged by frost, I'm not too sure about the beans but the plant is not hardy. They should be mature by now, if it were me, I would harvest them or cover them over if you are expecting a frost. Mine are already harvested and either drying or frozen (in the freezer )

Generally the beans are frost hardy for a few degrees anyway, but the plants will keel over. Iv'e harvested everything excep[t a late planting of Aranesco, will find out if the beans have survived in a few days... I wanted them for shelling beans not green so if it doesn't work then it doesn't work.... they're not a great green bean anyway, I lose nothing....
Hi 2-sheds - b*gger I've not managed to pick our dwarf cannilini (sp!) & climbing bortlottis - we've had some frosts already...will the beans still be okay?
