  • Veg for shady spots

I have just spent 18 months cultivating a lovely veg patch in my garden only to have my neighbour erect a 6ft fence and throw a significant portion into the shade. Any suggestions for crops that will grow against the north facing wall of a 6 ft fence. Or can anyone think of a simple incendary device which will not look too suspicious

What rotten luck! There is another thread running at the moment about veg to grow in shady spots - maybe you will find some ideas on there.

Good luck - I have spent 2 days chopping down 20 foot high conifers to remove the shade problem from my garden
    Happy Gardening,

I thought leafy veg do okay in shady spots, spinach, white beet leaves etc etc, also thought radishes do okay in shade.
