All my chillies growing, but in my front porch, where it has been a minimum of about 3 degrees (-4 outside). They will go on through the winter there (hopefully ) unless the weather makes it drop below 0 in the porch and that needs to be about -6 or -7 outside.
But unprotected in a greenhouse? Very possible, I had some hold on for ages in a freezing polytunnel.
What's interesting in my greenhouse atm, is the low temps have killed off the tomato plants, but the remaining fruits seem to still be ok. Making me wonder if I should have left all the fruit on until now.Last edited by womble; 18-11-2010, 08:29 AM."Orinoco was a fat lazy Womble"
Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

Mine still look pretty good in the greenhouse but I have noticed more fruits rotting on the plants than in the summer, I imagine caused by the increasing damp conditions.
I thought I might leave the plants in there (with additional fleece layers) and hope some come through the winter?

My Bolivian Rainbow are still growing (even fruit forming from flowers - just in an unheated greenhouse.. tempted just to leave them on to dry, but may overwinter one of the plants).
I've hardly watered them at all mind, keep forgetting - perhaps that's why? Cold soil, etc?
