I have a list of jobs a mile long to do over the winter and find it hard sometimes to get out there. Don't mind the cold to much providing the ground isn't frozen. Can't put up with a cold biting wind though, and obviously a no go when chucking it with rain.

Guess its about picking the days. If its lashing rain and blowing a hoolie, harvesting a few veg for a roast and an afternoon in front of the fire!

But those bright, sunny winter days are the best. I love them as much as summer ones. A few hours on the plot in the fresh air is great for the soul.

P.S. I've got sash windows too. They're lovely, but blinkin' drafty. We have a load at work too, which we had to repair last year. Cost a small fortune.

I quite enjoy the winter months when there's not much to do. Apart from a bit of tidying up, I prefer to garden from my armchair at this time of year and plan for the hectic new year.

I'm reading through my books and planning where to grow everything as I'm moving more towards heirloom seeds so I have lots of new things to try.
