I just cut off the top few inches of a growing tip and put it in a pot of compost and they seemed to root just fine. You need to keep them out of any risk of frost, mine lived in a coolish conservatory last winter and didn't do much until spring when it warmed up a bit. You can then take more cuttings if you want. This might not be the proper way of doing it but it seemed to work.
