What would you like to grow in 2011?

I am going to try some red king edward potatoes and some Harlequin potatoes, I am going to plant a 30 ft of red king edwards in the polytunnel and the rest ourside to compair the difference.

I am also going to try purple sprouts.

Blight won't overwinter in the soil but it will in any tubers that you missed last season. It is also one of the reasons you shouldn't let stragglers grow.
Next year all I want is to grow loads of success. Not worried what plants they are.

This is what understood, trying to find a citation on it ! Most sources seem to suggest in the UK, wind born is the infection source (but that does not explain a great deal as it needs to stay alive between times !)

I plan on growing lots of squashes (my old obsession that's growing), beans (a new obsession), and fruit. Last Fall I planted lots of currant and gooseberry bushes, and strawberries. I also have 2 fruit trees coming in a few months.

Plus all the other staples.

Much the same as the OP for me - finding out if successes were luck or judgment and trying some more varieties of things I like to grow or eat.

Space is limited so likely:

spuds
carrots
spinach
chard
rhubarb
radishes
chillies
peas
beans
courgettes
squashes

I'd also like to try some of the herbs that I find it difficult get hold of

Usually I do strawberries, raspberries, a few blackcurrants, apples, onions, turnips, sweetcorn, tomatoes, potatoes, cabbage, courgettes and parsley quite successfully and I will continue with these. Just now we have brocolli, cauliflower, winter onions, beans and garlic.

There is definite room for improvement with the grapes and the plum tree, so I will work on these and hopefully there will be more Hazelnuts next year too.

After watching HFW on River Cottage last night I am seriously considering Celeriac and might also do some spinach.
