              A couple each of chillies - Choc, White Habs, Hungarian Wax, Twilight and Naga Jolokia sown in heated propagator on 10th. Mixed salad leaves sown same day and have started to appear. Sweet peas chitted overnight and then sown in root trainers today. Oh, and I'm having another go with ginger using a budded bit left over from Christmas.
              It's good to get going again, I can see windowsills will soon be overflowing.

                Sowed tasco onions yesterday hoping to be able to get an entry inthe NVS national Championships at LLangollen at the end of august.

                Pricked out seedlings of my large exhibition onion - Ailsae - today. No aspirations of glory with them but it is really encouraging to be able to grow a big un.

                    Today, in a seed tray of sowing compost, I sowed 1 row of Gardeners Delight Toms, 1 row of Canary Beefsteak Toms, 1 row of "All year round" Caulis, 1 row of Petunia Mix & 1 row of climbing Petunia. The petunias were not covered with soil as they need light to germinate. Covered the tray with a clear lid & left in unheated GH
                    I forgot to add also 1 row of Cheyenne Chilli

                        12 Chilli De Cayenne sown in windowsill propagators in the house along with:

                        12 Sweet Pepper Worldbeater;

                        6 Cherry Tomato Gardeners Delight;

                        18 modules of Mixed Lobelias; and

                        24 Sweet Pea Mixed Cascade (I think).

                        Now begins the fun sport of propagator watching. Surely they meant germination in 10-20 minutes and NOT days

                            Some broad beans: Aquadulce directly outside and three others (Sutton and um... forget the other names) in loo rolls inside for planting out in March. I'm experimenting with putting these next to the gooseberry bush as I've read that it helps to deter sawfly. Ah well, here's hoping.
