OK, its my first full season with the GH this year so couldnt wait to get started, planted two each of these in seed cells in the heated propagator on 2nd Jan.
- Marconi
- Cayenne
- Red Cherry
- and some cherry toms (am I allowed to say that on this thread)?
- Misc Sweet Bell Pepper (maybe California Delight)
- Misc Sweet Bell Pepper Orange (maybe California Delight)
And then on 9th Jan two each of...
- Long green Thai
- Jacobs Coat
- Some other cherry toms (wrong thread I know, sorry)
Found this evening that three of the Misc Bell Peppers have now sprouted - YEY!
Oooh, I can *just* see the heads of two Bird's Eye chillis popping through the soil. They were only sown on the 8th (and were bought in 2009), so not bad.
Also one sweet pepper (from a supermarket pepper) is just peeping through.
checked the heated propogator today and the chilli seedlings are about 1inch tall, should i repot hem and if so should they be kept in the propogator or would the kitchen window sill do??? kitchen temp is normally around 18 degrees

the important thing for seedlings once they've germinated is to give them light....they'll be ok in whatever they're in for a bit till more roots form! Keep them in the prop
I've now also got a couple of orange habs and the first gelbe kirschen popping up.
I noticed though, that it's the ones in the middle of the propagator which are popping up first and, sure enough, when I checked, all the heat seems to be in the middle
I'll need to chop my module tray down the middle and swap them around a bit.

As above, light is most important. How much condensation is there in your propagator? The danger with leaving them in is damping off -- that is, they gat a touch of mould and die...
Chilis:
Apache Cayenne (Suttons, for reliable large crop)
Nigel's Outdoor
Pretty in Purple
Hungarian Black (from saved seed, so who knows what it'll be): germinated 13/1, crickey, these were impossible last year from bought seed
Habanero orange: germinated 13/1
Habanero chocolate
Habanero yellow
Caribbean red
Scotch Bonnet yellow
Scotch Bonnet red
Tepin (last seven in a big collection)
Peppers:
Yankee bell
Lipstick
Aubergines (crashing the early thread):
Moneymaker: germinated 13/1
Early Long
di Firenze
Ukranian: germinated 9/1
In unheated propagators by the radiator, by the way. Lots of seed for each, dunno what I'll do if I get good germination (see Moneymaker aubergines, all nine of which are off).

the HP is vented and i noticed last night that there was quite a bit of condensation and that the seedlings had little water droplets on the leaves so i opened the vent last night and it seems to have reduced quite a bit so i think i will leave them there vented for a few more days and start repotting the larger of them maybe next week.
thanks again for all the help!!!
