            Wow.

The best thing about swapping is seeing seeds that you named being sown by other people.

                Yup.

And a great chili they are too. Given to me by a Ryton volunteer 2 years ago. Hence the name

I'll need to chop my module tray down the middle and swap them around a bit.
I put mine into those tiny one inch pots and keep the middle pot free; as it also dries out the fastest.

Yep, thanks Zaz, the Ryton Red were from you via the Chilli seed parcel, the other 5 were all from commercial sources.

Looking forward to some nice long red Chillies

                    • I sowed 4 seeds of my saved Cayennes from last year. They went in on the windowsill with a poly bag a fortnight ago. First one up today!

                      • I have sown some Tabasco chilis today - from my T&M voucher that I got last month for the magazine entry.

I'm sowing a little pot of peppers as my previous sowings come out of the propagator. So I haven't got too many on the go all at once.

                        • think both of my white habs are dead one looks like it has mould around it even though its not in a humid environment and on the other the radicle has gone brown

also had a weed seed germinate... how do you sterilize compost.. just pour boiling water through?

                          • I don't usually bother to sterilise shop bought compost, but if I need to I bake it in the oven, at 100C for 30 minutes, then let it cool in the oven. It's probably more than necessary but...
All my seeds, except numex twilght have been from the vine, so I'm trusting they are true to type. However, as I'm pleased with them, I'm happy to go with what I get. I've got quite a few going so far, jiffy7s in a heated propagator, and I'm planning to pot on tomorrow into 3 inch proper pots.
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

Also repotted my overwintering Scotch Bonnet and Purple Gusto... all in my spare room, which is the warmest room in the house, and also has the most consistent temperature

                              • I'm behind you all but treated myself to a couple of heated propagators for a tenner each today. Have chilli seed but no compost !

I suggested that DS's school does a plant sale this spring and am thinking of growing extra for that. Has anyone grown them for a plant sale and did the plants actually sell?
