I do not understand this catching up malarkey. My later ones caught up, but later- ie they produced fruit later than late. The early sown ones gave us our first tom at the beginning of June and kept on going right into October and probably would have gone beyond if I hadn't stopped watering and feeding.
Admittedly it is a major faff. Every morn and eve we got into a ritual of carting them out into the placcie GH and then back inside to spend the night on the dining table. The question is, is it worth the hassle? Not sure, but will be doing it again. I'm going to start around the 2nd I think.
Once that's out of the way it's the chitting tatties that take up all the room, then the drying beans/onions/garlic etc. Dining tables are definitely not for dining on, well at least half of them isn't.
