      Found this forum while looking for advice on growing parsnips.

      Looks like tomorrow I'll be raiding the grandkids art box for toilet roll tubes.

        Hi Bren, hope you enjoy yourself here.
        I'd like to know how long these blessed parsnips take to germinate?
        I put some on moist paper on a tray in the warm kitchen on 14th March (root day). As yet, absolutely no sign of them doing anything (alhough one or two do look a little swollen, but no 'nibs' yet.
        Should I put them straight into compost t-rolls?

          Thanks for the welcome

          Jane I'm planting my seeds straight into the rolls, doing a couple of seeds in each. I figure the less handling the seeds get from me the better they should be. (fingers crossed)

            Hello

            PLease could someone say where the thread is about growing parsnips & carrots in situ...in dibbed holes filled with compost & sand mix. I was thinkin' of trying this method?
