My challenge for this year is parsnips that look like parsnips so I was going to try the trench/planting holes method. I was going to use leafmould mixed with sand as have plenty of those

How far apart did you sow them in the trench?

As I recall, I chitted them on damp kitchen paper then sowed them indiviually about two inches (5cm) apart. They just pushed eachother out of the way!

Chitting mine made the world of difference...

The first lot I planted were 14 inches long, the next lot went in too late to be anything other than babies.

Unfortunately I've lost the notebook when I wrote down when I planted them

Yay well done Creemteez! I got the first part done right (chitting on damp kitchen towel in a container in the airing cupboard) so the next part will be to do the trench and we are there! I had some good ones this year but not quite as perfect as yours!
