Anyone Harvesting PSB yet?

Mine's looking healthy, but probably a few weeks away. Spoke to my local veg farmer last night, an she's picking already.

Been picking mine since December. Only have 1 plant left now thanks to the snow though.

Mine is an extra early variety though. Edit; oh and HUGE.

Mines only about a foot high at a stretch! I think i got it in too late and the snow took me from 10 healthy plants to 3 with no leaves then the wind had another blown across the garden so I've only 2 left does anyone know if they will still produce anything as they are going to take a while to get big enough?

Mine are still tiny but very healthy looking, been held in suspended animation for weeks because of snow and severe frost. Same as last year, they'd been in all winter and I think we picked the brocolli in May! but it was worth waiting for.

Yup, Purple Sprouting Xtra Early - T&M's I think.

I think I have seeds if you'd like to try them first of all?

Mine are still vertical and look healthy ( big improvement on last year) but no signs of anything to pick yet.........

Mine are pretty healthy looking and I think they're on the verge of thinking about sprouting. Although I love the stuff I'm still eating lots of cabbage at the moment and tend to prefer the PSB after that has finished. Have tried a couple of while sprouting this year too but one of those doesn't look too good after the snow so will have to see what happens with that. I found last year that just 4 plants fed me and OH for weeks they produced so much but they didn't start until late and were still going in June which was a bit of a pain as I wanted the ground for something else

We grow 3 varieties and usually get a meal or two every week from around January to May. I think they are Extra Early, Late and Redhead PSB. On the whole not a great year for the PSB so far - pickings are down on previous years, guess the earlier cold spell messed with it though we got a few meals from the Autumn Spear Brocolli in January this year - the bitter cold must have held it up!

Mine started croppin november I think - weird. Did the same last season. This year the snow killed it. It was beyond salvage. Maybe I need to try a hardier variety.

This is the first year I've grown it I've got 4 plants & mines about 3 weeks away from cropping. I love it slightly boiled with parmesan grated over it then popped under the grill to brown.
