Potato / Horse manure question

I have prepared my bed for taties, i have a huge pile of 2 year old horse manure down the field (i have horses and have my muck heaps in different places by the year, as i supply local freecyclers muck)

can i put a layer of this in the hole then pop the tatie seed straight on top, or does it need a barrier..

silly question...?
