  • fennel bulbs in containers?

    Hi folks
I am think of growing some fennel bunbls in containers as I fear that they might struggle in the heavy clay soil I have. I am wondering if anyone has any experience of this technique and any recommendations as to seeds and techniques that worked?

Thats interesting, my bulb fennel (the ones I forgot) died when we had snow - I never considered that they would come back?

Bulb fennel is frost tender and will not overwinter. Herb fennel will sprout again in the Spring.
I would not use containers for bulb fennel, as any shortage of water will cause it to bolt and not bulb up.
