Croila - I can't believe you have hooked out your PSB now after so long
, just as it will come good and give you a reward worth its weight in gold (you might have guessed, I LOVE PSB!).
I thought my PSB was late last year - so this year I grew an extra early (Rudolph) to see me from Nov onwards - most of it sprouted little twiggy flower sprigs and then because I left it, flowered in July/August time last year so I oiked those plants out, but left one plant in for the pigeons to feast on over the winter - which they gratefully have!! - but that is now producing some lovely little sprouts of purple again, despite the pigeon's brutal stripping of its leaves!! I've also got Claret in for the end of this month which, if last year is anything to go by, will keep going through May (until I need the space to put leeks in basically). My Claret got snowed under twice last year and still flourished, think its very hardy. I did have the misconception that I'd get the Claret harvest in Feb/Mar last year - I didn't realise just how 'late' PSB actually is......but what a treat to wait for though!!!
