Where can i buy celariac seed

Have real difficuly finding celariac seed at any local shops, don't want to order from catalogue and pay postage for 1 packet, any one know where to look

Me neither! I grew it last year and it was a disaster plenty of leaf, no root - although my swede were great. What happened to yours? Or didn't you like it

We had near-daily rain from end of July until now ... mine still isn't edible, it's all leaf no root

I had a little dabble with celeriac last year, it was as above, mostly leaves and the bulbous part was hard and woody and reached about the size of a golf ball. I may give it another try, may not.

Hm, I was going to give it a try this year,perhaps I wont waste any space on it and just bung it in if I have a bit of room.
Anyhoo pm me if you want some seeds cos I certainly wont be growing them all

It needs plenty of water (as has been said) and a long growing season, and so not worth growing unless you start the seeds off about now. I grow mine in pots (probably ought to use newspaper pots or loo rolls to avoid transplant-shock). They are very small, and grow very slowly as seedlings, so it can be a month before they are ready for pricking out.

The trouble is that it stays in the ground for so long and takes up space that could be used by something more useful. If you have the space then grow it.

I like the taste of celery so I grow it with no problems and I also like turnips so I grow them as well. But turnip rooted celery....mmmm. Nice idea but give me the real thing.

Thanks for all your replies, I have been put off growing, I've too many other things that I'm really keen to grow and I think too little space.
