First, get your tyre, mine came from the local recycling center, she wasn't happy about letting me have some but I promised never to bring them back
I've been slowly making a new border to dig around the edge of the garden so I put down cardboard, put the tyres on top, filled them with the compost heap stuff, packed into the walls as well, then put the plant in the middle when it was big enough.
Added bonus that when the plant comes out, I dig in the compost to make the border soil better.
