Lunar Planting - what have you sown today

just to saw im new here but blimey, plants are living things and all living things are affected by the moons cycle since the bigginning of time. ive alwasy planted when i could aroud and one a full moon and im sorry ive has fantastic results, i learnt from my gran who has also been ahead of everyone else. were also a fishing family so we have a background on watching the moons cycle.

i say for those who havent tried it and are mocking it grow a gut and put your seeds where your mouth is and give it ago according to you its a load of rubbish so its not like you'll loose anything. doesnt mean you have to sow your seeds by moonlight mind you. whatever floats your boat love dont moke it till you try it

Helps fertility...er germination! It's quite easy sowing to a schedule - we are all doing it anyway in one form or another.

Synodic: Sow root vegetables, berries, bulbs, onions, biennials, and perennials.

Biodynamic: Sow Root plants like Asparagus, Beetroot, Carrots, Chives, First Early Potatoes, Horseradish, Jerusalem Artichokes, Leeks, Onions, Parsnips, Potatoes, Radish, Second Early Potatoes, Shallots, Spring Onions.

Tomorrow - same as above

22nd
Synodic: Sow root vegetables, berries, bulbs, onions, biennials, and perennials.

Biodynamic: Sow Flowering plants like Broccoli, Cauliflowers, Globe Artichokes, but it would not be a good time to sow Rooting plants like Asparagus, Beetroot, Carrots, Chives, First Early Potatoes, Horseradish, Jerusalem Artichokes, Leeks, Onions, Parsnips, Potatoes, Radish, Second Early Potatoes, Shallots, Spring Onions.

23rd - same as 22nd

24th
Synodic: Sow root vegetables, berries, bulbs, onions, biennials, and perennials.

Biodynamic: Sow Leaf plants like Cabbages, Celeriac, Celery, Dill, Lettuce, Rhubarb, Spinach, but it would not be a good time to sow Fruiting plants like Aubergines (Eggplant), Broad Beans (Fava), Cucumbers, Peas, Peppers, Tomatoes.

25th - same as 24th

26th
Synodic: This is not a good time to be sowing anything in the garden. Instead use this time to weed and harvest from the garden. It is an excellent time to start building a new compost heap.

Biodynamic: Sow Fruiting plants like Aubergines (Eggplant), Broad Beans (Fava), Cucumbers, Peas, Peppers, Tomatoes, but it would not be a good time to sow Leaf plants like Cabbages, Celeriac, Celery, Dill, Lettuce, Rhubarb, Spinach.

27th - same as 26th

28th

Haven't been on for a while, am so glad to read this useful thread as this is my first year of moon planting!

Busy fews days so haven't made it on here but sowed parsnips and more leeks on sunday and this morning I have sown Hollyhocks (no idea if it is the right time of year but found a draw full of seeds I'd forgotten about so sowed them any way) Sunflowers and PSB.

As it changes to leaf sowing time at 3pm todday I'm hoping to get more salad, the first herbs and some more cauli (which according to my book is firmer and stores longer from leaf day sowings)

Hi LL and welcome to our little group! Pleased it provides a point of reference. We all record what we have sown on here and I intend posting some pics when I work out how to change my RAW photos to jpg format.

Beauiful day today but the sky is very starry this evening so have bought all my seeds in from outside, lots of trips up and down stairs.

After work sowing: Spinach, sweet basil, coriander, peppermint, curly mint, parsley.

Too tired to do anymore and have big meeting in the morning so going to call it a night, hopefully get the rest of the salad sown tomorrow

... ooh, just remembered a tray of leeks I haven't bought in

Oops go get - sounds like a busy session tonight - I sowed nothing today - did some planting of herbs and sweet peas whilst watching the sunset glow after a long afternoon spent on the gardening club bargains in my local nursery More effort required tomorrow

Easy day for me planting wise, I've sown a few dwarf beans, some 'hot stuff' chillies and some 'half pint' peas all for growing at home. At the allotment I've moved the chickens pen onto fresh grass and acquired some extra strawberry plants from an unused plot.

Tomorrow I'm going to try for a big push on toms, sweet peppers, cucumbers, more chillies and aubergines.
