Tomorrow I'm going to try for a big push on toms, sweet peppers, cucumbers, more chillies and aubergines.

What's everyone else up to this weekend?
Repotted my toms and cukes today. Yesterday sowed some sweet peas. Mainly tidying in the borders - half of garden now dug over, deweeded and bark chipped - other half to do. All roses fed. Box in knot garden fed. Purchased more seed and plants too and hidden from OH!
Potatoes (earlies), parsnips, turnips, carrots and beetroot on Monday. More onions Tuesday.

Synodic:This is not a good time to be sowing anything in the garden. Instead use this time to weed and harvest from the garden. It is an excellent time to start building a new compost heap.

Biodynamic: Sow Root plants like asparagus, bettroot, crrots, chives, potatoes, horseradish, Jerusalem Artichokes, leeks, Onions, Parsnips, Radish, Shallots, Spring Onions.
29th/30th Roots as 28th for biodynamic and Synodic is maintenance time.
This should take us to the close down period for the forum. Jot down your roots reminder!

In advance 31st March/1st April is flowering veg schedule on biodynamic - Synodic still maintenance time (no seed sowing).

      Happy sowing/planning/maintenance to all!

That's the kiddy - really easy to put in. I hacked an ancient and past it apple tree out of our rear approach garden (house is built back to front), ripped up the lawn, marked my pattern out in sand, planted tiddy sized box plants all along the pattern lines. Fed and watered. Put in some nice old fashioned English roses, bulbs tulips and alliums, lavender, lots of gravel surrounding and as paths - built a circular hedge in the middle - my knots are on the four sides. Planted an armilliary in the circle. All I need is a peacock but can't have one until the few neighbours we have leave.

Work one into your garden if you have the space - they look delightful from an elevated position/upstairs window

So far I have been very good and have stuck with it, one day I want to be growing and saving my own seeds of somethings at least

First time growing these for me - thought the children would like them. Nothing like a fresh cuke straight after cutting.

Harvesting seed is a nice idea - only ever done that with peas/beans. I would probably buy as well as harvesting !!!

I'm not grown cukes before but bought some seeds a few years ago so am giving it a shot, will just have to see how I get on.

I've bought most of my seeds the real seed company this year (I bought runner beans from Ryton at the end of last year as RSC didn't use to have any but they now do) and they all come with info on saving them. Going to try a few this year and join my local seed savers group, if they ever have a meeting I can go to that is

                            • Had a lovely phone call from my mother this morning to see if I wanted to spend a few hours on the lottie before work so have put the first of my potatoes, International Kidney, and some peas (I know it is the wrong day for them but I was given a jar of already sprouting ones so they had to go in) and did some weeding.

Not sure what I have to do tonight, possible start of some beetroot in egg trays to see how they do compare how they do to those sown direct.
