Shallots direct sown and been in since end Feb. Onions in modules in greenhouse and some already in the lottie - part of my experiment on direct sown V module. Want to get a head start as was sowing at back end of onion season last year and was disappointed with size

Mine are also in modules in the unheated greenhouse and have been for about a month. Nice tall green shoots propelling from the sets. These will go out shortly. I stupidly removed the fleece from my over wintering autumn plalnted sets but haven't had a chance to see the damage the recent frost has caused! D'oh!!

I've still got my overwintering ones in. They're starting to come on really well now the weather's better, so might put my spring ones in very soon.

My shallots are in, onion sets will go in tomorrow. They will be fleeced anyway (as is my garlic ) until the end of April to keep off the allium leaf miner. Onion grown from seed won't be going in until May.......S*d the housework I have a lottie to dig
