I planted my first early potato variety on Saturday (even though i knew the weather forecast wasn't great
), i had planned to pop up this afternoon and cover them with fleece as the weather didn't look too good. However, got back late, and in a hailstorm, so didn't make it up there. Won't be able to go up tomorrow either, but could do Wednesday am.
Is it worth covering them? The soil temp was over 10 degrees a few weeks ago, even with a few days of cold weather the tubers won't get frosted will they? i planted them one spit ish down.
I also planted some broad beans out (they had been hardened off for a few weks), and didn't put anythig over them - oops! I'm not so optomistic about them, especially as its started snowing properly now!
