      Bretby - don't know whether the nursery goes back to when Lord Canaervon lived at Bretby Hall. I will try and do a bit of research and give you more of an answer. It was quite a major nusery that as said supplied the UK in toms. Little history there!

              mine have all been in the conservatory for weeks which is a sort of halfway house, no heating and no double glazing, just faces south. They will go in the gh in a couple of weeks..

                This year all my seeds are being started off in an unheated greenhouse, all have come up and some have been potted on.
                Gardening ..... begins with daybreak
                and ends with backache

                    Nah - no max min here; just a froggie one from Wilko that shows when it gets too hot in the summer [you can see him from the kitchen window so when it gets beyond a certain amount I pop out and give everything a good hose down].

                      I always germinate mine in the airing cupboard, but earlier in the year I found a clump of tiny seedlings in the soil(outside) that I believe had germinated from a tomato that had been chucked in there last year. I may try outdoor germination next year as an experiment
