This time last year I'd planted out my spuds, but although it's been warm, I don't know whether it's too early yet? Have you planted yours out yet?

I don't plant mine out until 7th April, otherwise its a fight to keep the frost off them.
But I do have some in bags (in the Greenhouse) for the First Early New Potatoes, so I'm not in too much of a rush.
Plant out half your First Early now, and the other half (plus the Mains etc) in a week or two's time if you are not sure?Last edited by Kristen; 26-03-2011, 10:07 AM.K's Garden blog the story of the creation of our garden

Not yet no. I have 3 coming up nicely in a shrub tub in the greenhouse but nothing out on the bare soil yet.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

I'm hoping to get mine in this weekend, (First & Second Earlies) but living very close to the sea we're pretty guaranteed to be frost free from now... Just checked my diary from last year and they went in on the 28th March, so about right.
Such a lot depends on where you are really, re frosts.Life is brief and very fragile, do that which makes you happy.

Mine are going in this weekend - normally I'd only put the 1st earlies in now but as I'm having surgery in 10 days I thought I'd better get them all in the ground while I've got the chance. (Unless I can persuade OH to help out in the coming months)Life is too short for drama & petty things!
So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

I put my earlies in on Monday, but it does tend to be milder here than most of the country.
Will wait a few weeks before putting my maincrop in. Maybe mid to late April.

My earlies (International Kidney) went into bags last weekend.
My second earlies (Kestrel) and maincrop (Maxine) were planted today.
The only reason they weren't all done last week is that I couldn't be a***d.Sent from my pc cos I don't have an i-phone.
