Peas too high.

For last 2 years my peas have grown to high for supports,is it o/k to pinch put tops as for runner beans?

As far as I have been told yes, you can nip of the tops safely. Some people might have other advice.

or take the stems down from the supports and layer across the ground to then take the stems up another support . The answer to your question though is yes, it causes no problems to pinch out the growing points.

If you don't like the taller varieties though, switch to a smaller one.

Or put the supports at an angle like this / and let the tops dangle down.

It very much depends on whether you are talking dwarf or long peas to be honest......as long peas need the height or they won't produce as much.

They were early onward and grew to 5 foot +instead of 2-2.5 feet,to much fertilizer maybe?
