advice please on my onions

This photo is of the 3 rows of onions I planted today, two rows which have been growing on my windowsill, with a row inbetween them of bulbs which have yet to grow.
I've got loads more to plant, but should I leave a walking space now, as I can't reach the ones at the right hand side from the path, or, will it be fine to just fill the bed?

Personally I tend to leave a walking space between every couple of rows but think is a personal thing if you can reach then fine
