Pruned the wisteria, wrapped up some potted cuttings in bubble wrap, received a parcel full of shredded cardboard so packed it in around the drying dahlia tubers, planted out more winter lettuce to replace the ones the mice ate. Watered the broadies and peas in the gh. After dark admired the solar powered fairy lights outside the back door

Pruned various currant bushes.
Continued with tarting up - sorry renovation - of our 8x6 Halls Greenhouse that we bought new when we moved here 30 years ago.
Cleaned all glass inside and out for the third time and replaced about 50 broken/corroded/missing glass spring clips. Filled various holes with either new glass/perspex/silicon sealant or a mix of all three.
New (to me - free from a near neighbour) - concrete flags inside and repainted staging means it now looks presentable.
To dos:
bubble wrap insulation and electricity . I am giving up paraffin after 30 years. Too much hassle - or I am just growing very lazy...Last edited by Madasafish; 15-12-2012, 07:26 PM.

Planted out my Damson tree , mulched and staked. Had all my parsnips up , now cleaned, peeled and cut up and in the freezer ...better in the freezer than in frozen ground . Weeded, and mulched bed with compost. Emptied some of last years leafmould on another bed,...collected leaves and bagged up for next year,.....carefully added gone to seed radishes to compost heap , keeping a lookout for Ron Weasel in case he is still in there........S*d the housework I have a lottie to dig

Almost cried when I went out this morning and inspected the garden after the oxfordshire air ambulance landed in the garden late yesterday afternoon as my Partner was found unconscious in the house (she is diabetic, had a blood sugar of less than 2, so they sorted her out). Going be a day of tidying up tomorrow, hopefully before it rains!
Just like to mention what an amazing job the Air Ambulance crews do, and what a brilliant job the pilot did to avoid any trees when landing/taking off.

Took the tops off all of the late started tomato plants in the GH to root in water. Wrapped one Transparent tomato from head to toe in bubble wrap to see whether it can survive the winter.
Debated whether to pick a tomatillo as I have no idea at what stage they're edible.
Spotted snowdrop buds in the lawn and the mini daffs poking their heads through - what a great way to welcome the shortest day.
