Sowed some carrots radishes and salad leaves in a mini greenhouse in the conservatory to see how well they do. Cut the mint back to the soil because it wasn't doing very well.

Started the sit around waiting for the solicitor to ring and say the house has gone though so did some potting up of seedlings into some Poundland 8cm paper pots (30 for a pound) I am trying out.
Today's test subjects included Pepper "Rubens", Pepper "Calif. Wonder" (2011 self collected seeds), Tomato "Tigerella" and Tomato "First in Field"
Now with nearly 30 pepper seedlings I keep telling myself "no more peppers..... for now"Last edited by MartinRSharpe; 10-01-2013, 11:06 AM.

Cut to size some blue pipe for cloching my Broadies in the tunnel. This weather tells me it's needed. Still digging over the raised bed site at home.
Mr VVG has sifted home made compost from bin number 1 which was half full. Bin number 3, completely full is my job tomorrowLast edited by VirginVegGrower; 10-01-2013, 07:15 PM.Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better...Albert Einstein

Brought in and brushed off some pots, filled and topped them up them with last year's grow bag compost. Had a tidy up of the conservatory, moved all the small pots into the mini greenhouse. Finished washing the big windows in the conservatory and mopped the corner I hadn't yet. Found some seeds I had misplaced after being given them for christmas. Watered the seedlings.

Managed to finally empty the stayput of dried out chillies and lots and lots of water. Roof leaks, panels have blown in and shelves were filthy and holding water. Repair job needed in Spring so that's a project for my youngest son. Transplanted the teeny cloves of garlic from modules into the ground. They look surprisingly robust, so I hope they carry on. I need compost. What is left over from last year is wet through. I have managed to fill a prop with the wet stuff and it's on the kitchen windowsill drying out. My but it was good to get outside and do - even if it was only a little bit. Little bit more tomorrow if weather stays good.Granny on the Game in Sheffield
