  • Sitting waiting for plant delivery because the company have delivered the wrong things twice now.

Having seen the dispatch notice I think they have done it again- it mentions 5 sets of 4x asparagus crowns. I only ordered a single one!

    • The chicken wire and post fence around the lotty is up. Now I have a wire system that the tayberries and loganberries can start to romp away on. Plus whoever liked to walk across my plot, now can't. Hoed off again as the rain has brought up new seedlings - fortunately our soil is free draining. Planted beans, corn, nasturtiums, sweet peas, assorted bee friendly plants and am contemplating planting out the squashes. Direct sown carrots and gherkins are still not up, which indicates I should hold a bit on the squashes maybe?!?

          • A small mountain of asparagus plants delivered, all wrong! Now to work out how to return them.

Also adopted a small jungle of house plants from a neighbour who was leaving- so many of them I'm not really sure what to do with them as I've not had so many houseplants to take care of.

I see a lot of jobs to do over the weekend!

            • Sowed a few climbing french beans from old seed. Likewise with dwarf frenchies. I'll give them a short while to see if they germinate and if not I'll have to bite the bullet and buy fresh seed. The annoying thing is I kept my own seed from my frenchies last year but have forgot where I stashed it.)

Filled another trug with weeds and fed them to the chooks to scratch around in!

                    • Dug up loads of flowers in a friends garden for replanting in mine, weeded, replanted. Laid a path in my old shed with decking tiles ( thanks OTC). Planted in more toms, repotted lupins, sowed flower seeds, potted on chitted beans, watered everything, weeded a raised bed, fed chickens with weeds, planted out runners....forecast looks good

                        Sowed some more carrots.
Planted out some Lolla Rossa from modules to ground..
                        Potted on some tomatoes..
                        Sowed some green lettuce seed.

                              • Squashes are in - all fifteen plants. More nasturtiums and beans in. More weeding, this time in the parsnip area. Fed with comfrey. Earthed up spuds again. Sheared off the spinach in the Gertrude Franck bed.
