    • Done LOADS today.
      Cleaned out chicken coop.
Planted up 2 Garden Pearl tomatoes into hanging baskets.
Cleaned out and planted up 6 tubs with bedding plants.
Planted up a long trough with 10 attractie lettuce.
Admired the purple flowers on the Shiraz mange tout plants.
Went out for lunch then went straight on to the allotment.
Planted out 20 minipop and 6 golden nugget sweetcorn plants.
Planted out my sad looking runner beans.
Planted out very healthy looking violet podded climbing beans
      Planted out red cabbage.
      Planted out purple cauliflowers.
Planted two earli-dew melon in polytunnel.
Planted out 2 more pumpkin plants.
      Weeded beds.
      Watered most of it.
Sprayed some of the overgrown area with some weedkiller. Although I don't really want to use it, needs must I'm afraid.
      Harvested some radishes.

Feeling like things are looking good - there was a lovely flower on one of the courgettes, lots of flowers and some pea pods on the peas, flowering mange tout, carrots suddenly shooting up, broad bean pods forming. Hope to be harvesting more than radishes and spinach soon.

      • Weeding in garden. Taken all day to do one side. Shattered, so other side gets done tomorrow now.

        • Forgot yesterday all remaining tomatoes got planted into Morrisons pots. Even more in the poly now.
Took the v shoots and potted them. We will see. Probably be an epic fail.

          • Gave in and watered at the allotment. No rain here for ages and a north-easterly wind blowing all week has really dried out my sandy soil.

              • Repotted most of my tomatoes, this week they really have just sprung on (thankfully). Even made little labels to tell each type apart.
Planted out some more peas, and sowed some more radish.
Found a few things I'd given up on have suddenly germinated- no idea what they are thought :-( Probably some tomatoes and some leafy things though.

                • Planted 10 courgettes/squashes into 2 of the pallet crate raised beds that appeared on Friday. Undersowed one bed with a mix of parsnips and radish and the other with carrot/spring onion/lettuce mix.
I m hoping that I can crop some radish and lettuce before the squashes squash them! Also that the parsnips and carrots will grow under and through the squash leaves. And that the spring onions will detract from the smell of carrots.
As long as I have some courgettes this year, the rest doesn't matter

                  • 10??? Every one laughs at me when I plant a dozen!! Perhaps I should be planting 40 !
I finished planting in my cues and toms in the GH, pulled up some shallots that are bolting. Planted in the last of my frenchies....40 borlotti beans still in their trays !
Although managed to pick more kale and another tromba for tea

                    • I have more to plant out and I'm madly jealous of your Trombas. Mine are still waiting their turn to go out. Do you grow yours in the GH Scarlet?

                      • I always start them of end feb early march. Keep them in the house till april and then fleece them in the GH. I think they stand the cold better than courgettes.

                        • Remind me about it next Feb please I'll grow on a couple of mine in the GH just to see if it hurries them up.

                          • Fair bit over weekend.

Weeded (with master Loudbarker) round lettuce, beetroot, spring onions, french beans, pak choi, parsnips/raddish.
Sieved (with Master Loudbarker) last of ready compost so that's ready to palnt leeks into when I plant them out which will be soon.
French beans looking really cold so put my patent cloche/fleece cover on them. OF the seconfd lot only 50% have germinated_ MUST sow some more qucikly and runenrs too - may be next wekend.
Watered tomatos, soft fruit. Tomatos look as if they are enjoying the cold, but they are in a very sheltered spot with a south facing brick wall behind them.
                            Mowed lawn
                            Thinned/harvested raddish
                            Cut lettuce
harvetsed PSR - I thought it would be the last but it's not.......
Cut a delicious aspring cabbage - one of the pointy ones perhaps Hispi. Need to chec. Miss Loudbarker (5) turned up her nose at it, but Master LB (3) tucked in - good boy!

                              • Pricked out three San Marzano toms. I know it's late, but my other plants look decidely decrepit! Planted out another pumpkin and said helloooo to the courgettes and cucumber seedlings that are peeping out of their modules in the stayput. Watered t'other pumpkins, squashes, peas, beans and onions. Gave the strawberries a feed, never done that before. There are loads of flowers and I'm so pleased, I only got a few last year from new plants.
