  • I have finally taken 18 Chadwick cherry tom plants to the cold greenhouse at the allotment. The OH wanted them gone from the window cills round the house, so thought I would do as I'm told, for the best.

I have a homemade greenhouse at the allotment with soil and compost borders, this year I have decided to invest in the grow pots for my toms and use black plastic to stop weeds.
I will send some pics when I figure out how to upload from my ipad

      • Tomato fed my 2013 overwintered Fuego F1, also tomato fed the Cayenne and Jalepeno plants in the picture for the first time as an experiment. I will feed the Cayennes and Jalepenos once every 2 week and carry on feeding my Fuego once every week. The Fuego has about 30 buds on it so I hope they flower and fruit.

        • This is a picture of a Cayenne I watered today, I pruned this plant about 2 weeks ago and started growing it the same time as my Scotch Bonnets, Jalepenos and other Cayennes. All my plants in the attic room are just going to be water fed until they start to flower, then I'll use tomato feed

          • Yesterday - sowed my new wildflower area under the Bramley apple tee. Today - moved lots of strawberry plants and perennial onions into the new bed near the eating apple tree. Some strawberries flowering already

            • Wandered around the garden, umming and aahing about where to plant a couple of clumps of chives. I'm so indecisive that when I saw my next door neighbour I gave him a clump. Halved my problem

Weeded the herb bed and part of the perennial veg bed in my quest for somewhere to plant the remaining chives. Ended up planting them in a flower bed

Planted 19 potato onions - hope there'll be some large enough to eat this year!

Planted out some mixed salad leaves seedlings in the GH bed.

Quite a busy day really, between the showers.

Yikes! My chilli seedlings (Pyramid Rainbow Chilli) I potted on today, have only just got their first set of proper leaves. In fact the other variety I sowed hasn't even sprouted yet

Hopefully the fact I'm growing them on a south facing windowsill will mean there's still chance for a decent crop from them

Yeah you should still get a crop. I sown mine early Jan in a rush and all my seedling were extremely leggy so had to repot them deep

                  • Y/day at our AGM I was voted back on to the committee, I was asked to stand as chairman but I turned it down. Also last week I was offered and have taken the half plot next to mine. Its a extra 70sq foot to grow on this year. Got to get my skates on now!!

                      • Today I... Started making a stop motion video of my mangetout growing. I've started them in cells and they've germinated in just 4 days.

                        • Yesterday (I was locked out of here last night ) pricked out loads of bras - sprouts, cabbage, PSB and romanesco. I put them on the potting bench out of the way of the snugs and today I daren't go and look to see if they have been washed out in the downpour today!

                          • Re-sowed my hot chilli pepper mix. First lot haven't germinated so even though its a bit late, I thought I would try another batch. Applied rock salt to some more dandelions on my paths to hit them before they flowered.
