    • Took cauliflower and brussels sprout seedlings up to lottie and left them in the glass shed. Planted out all the red onion sets. Dug out another grass path (that took ages - really hard work). Why do I keep letting these grass paths grow every year? I always say never again but they just seem to turn up

Dug out some raspberry canes that were "escaping" and gave them with the plotholder next to me.

        • Last day of week off so decided to tend the garden that has been neglected over the last couple of years while I was getting lottie in shape.

There is so much to do and so many rogue trees to chop on the borders or there will be no sunshine in a south facing garden. Needs to be done if i'm going to find space for the toms I am nursing. Won't fit them all in at lottie.

Composted old strawberry plants, youngsters planted at lottie last year. Mulched raspberries 'Autumn Bliss', have had them a good few years so may need to look into restocking.

Pruned buddleia, a bit late but it always thrives, pruned dog wood because I read that it promotes brighter coloured stems for the winter, like coppicing. Wish I could afford a shredder!

Dug out rogue wild honeysuckle that was strangling west facing border and trained a forgotten honeysuckle that I planted about three years ago for scent and colour. Can't wait to see how it does with a bit of TLC.

Got pots ready for potting up Toms. Moved chitting potatoes to newly secured 'blowaway' along with parsnip and sweet pea sewings (sweat pea already up).

Chastised beloved cats for treading over newly planted seeds, mixed lettuce emerging despite paw shaped craters.

Romano peppers just emerging. Very excited about this.

Now putting feet up, sipping wine and thinking about all the ladybird couples I disturbed today.

          • Went and made a serious dent in Lidls strawberry stock ......cooked brambleys and rosemary to make jelly ........had a serious sort out in the gh ........relocated plenty to the blowaways and then relocated toms into the gh .....conservatory now got room for the next influx of cucurbits along with the chillies. pepppers and aubs ...made rosemary jelly ........washed the kitchen floor unintentionally along with myself ....had enough now ..

            • Finally found the Morrison's closest to me and got buckets - 8 for 99p! I felt ridiculously excited and happy, but then again, it's been months since I first heard of them and asked all the other main supermarkets - which are all closer to me - with no success. I may start shopping in Morrison's regularly out of sheer gratitude.... like I said, ridiculously happy. *g*

              • Planted spuds - pentland javelin, charlotte, cara and desiree. Put onions in. Watered in the tunnel - lovely day. Feet up now, and just a little bit of icecream as a treat!

                    • Planted out Oregon Sugar Pod Sugar Snaps.
Attached blue plastic shading to inside of nursery greenhouse - not a moment too soon!
Divided up and potted on ten small pots of Greek Oregano
Potted on last years cuttings of sage, rosemary and lavender.
Put my "For Sale" table out with a selection of strawberry plants, sweet peas, herbs and perennials (all from cuttings last year)
Planted up a tub full of overwintered Sweet Peas.
Collected £5 from the honesty box on the for sale table! Not bad for one day!

                      • Where to start. Another day off work today so blitzed the allotment. Made a plastic panel to finish off my greenhouse door. Washed all the newly fitted glass with a ***** fluid solution and a brush (managed to crack another pane)
Made a makeshift bench and relieved the pressure on my other greenhouse by shifting some seedlings out.
Pricked off some sprouts and cabbage.
Planted up some well sprouted onion sets.
Cleared area and started making another bed. Planted up some plants around my pond. Added a water butt to end of greenhouse and fashioned a downcomer out of pipe. sealed the joints with black silicon.
Moved my dalek to an area jacent to greenhouse. Added loose bricks to exterior of greenhouse base ready for cementing at my leisure.Topped up my 'froggy' pond.
Burned quite a bit of the old wooden greenhouse in the woodburner. Pollinated my peach blossom with a paintbrush.
Set my spuds out to chit and covered with polystyrene laminate underlay. Set up another water barrel at other corner but still need to plumb it in.
Took off dead foliage from garlic theat are in pots in greenhouse and weeded around them.
Watered everything that required it indoors.

                          • Had an hour at the plot last night after work - weeding and forking. Going to plant my early spuds today. And another row of peas I think - my first ones are just peeping through!

                            • What a beautiful day it was yesterday! Planted out broad beans from modules, plus some beet root. First time I've done beet root like this so interested to see what happens. The parsnips from the kitchen roll germinating are looking good. Thinned out some winter lettuce and replanted the thinnings. Put a clematis on the trellis where my Mermaid rose died in the hard winter of 2010. Sowed more chillies, tomatoes, caulis, French marigolds. Transferred peas from drainpipe to greenhouse. Picked a good handful of rocket and mixed leaves for a salad, and pulled a load of leeks.wondered what has eaten my young leek seedlings, nipped off the emerging leaf. Put a few slug pellets in the pot in case. Weeded asparagus and discovered shoots on the rhubarb which the dog had dug up last winter looking for the rabbit living there. Sat in sun and listened to robins. A good day.

                              • - potted on the hostas (saved seed) that I thought had perished over winter
                                - sowed yet more stuff in the heated props
                                - started the annual shuffle that is hardening off (onions and cornflowers this week)
                                - sowed lots of chitted peas on the lotty
                                - started chitting French and butter beans (although I don't recommend it this early )
                                - got more of my spuds in the lotty, taking out soil and replacing with leafmould
                                - filled the new raised beds (2) with topsoil & leafmould: hard, hard work
                                - sowed carrots & radish in the school's new salad bed
                                - hacked & dug up more of school's shrub bed to create a deluxe guinea pig home/plot
                                - levelled & raked the bed, sowed shady lawn seed (it's total shade, so I'm not optimistic about it)
                                - sowed carrot & beet direct in the new veg beds
