I didn't actually do anything, but I looked agan at the leeks (musselbrough and musselbrough improved) planted a fortnight ago and brassicas (red cabbage, savoys, cauliflower, calebrase) last weekend. All germinating nicely, but I think I probably sowed at least soem of these too early and may dump them. Peas (telephone and champion of britain) planted outdoors in loo rolls about a month ago are just beginning to poke heads through the compost, so will probably have to be planted out next weekend (or over easter if I can get away with it. Noet to self: don't mark plant labels with washable ink: it got washed off so I don't know which pea is which. Pencil next time.

Hello everybody, I'm new here!
Last night I watered all veggies and fruit trees in the garden. Pity the 250L water butt "jimmy" as my daughter calls it, is almost empty. Maybe buy a second one?
Brought veggie trays indoor.
This morning brought veggie trays outdoor.
Moved kitchen waste in the bokashi, left it in a sunny spot to help waste turning into liquid compost.

Considering I walked to Wilkinson's and back - over ten miles altogether, took me over five hours - I'm feeling mighty pooped and buying those things is all the 'gardening' I can deal with today.

Watered mainly. Need to invest in some water absorbing stuff. Middle sister came along, and sat in the compost bags and watched. Gardening is not really her thing. Learned that if I don't want baby curcurbits to die in infancy, need to bury up to the baby leaves. Have lost two but re sown in hope. Took two baby cauliflower babies to the wendy house.

Watered seedlings, gave onions some comfrey tea (not sure whether that will have any effect but hey ho). Taking a leaf from Snadger's book I took the dead foliage off the garlic. Unlike Snadger though, I kept my shirt on Have had to come in now, someone's turned off the sun.Granny on the Game in Sheffield

OK 2.5 hours up the Lotty and two dirty feet later, I have sown lettuce and rocket along the rows in between my garlic. More nasturtiums sown in modules. Chard too - I hate it, but the hens love it. Thrown rockdust liberally around my fruit beds and experimental onion bed. Watered everything and picked some rhubarb for crumble tonight.
Weeded and also earthed up the tatties that are poking through.
Forgot to add - transplanted a load of peas.Last edited by VirginVegGrower; 28-03-2012, 08:58 PM.Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better...Albert Einstein
